In the late 1970's H.R. Nichols and Ilene Molinder formed a psychological agency specializing in the field of sex deviance. One aspect of their agency that they focused on was the need for an assessment tool designed specifically for use with sex offenders. Their efforts lead to the development of the Multiphasic Sex Inventory II.

H. R. Nichols, PhD., Washington State Licensed Psychologist, began specialized work with sex offenders in 1967. His work included evaluation, treatment, program development and research at Western Washington State Hospital, Ft. Steilacoom, (11 years). Private Practice specializing in evaluation and treatment of sexual offenders 1978-1988. Full time research and test development since 1989.

Ilene Molinder, M.A., worked with sexual offenders and their spouses 1968-88 in various settings. She specialized in work with victims of sexual abuse 1972-75. Specialized evaluation and treatment of sexual offenders 1975-1978 at Western Washington State Hospital, Ft. Steilacoom. Private practice specialized evaluation of sexual offenders 1978-1988. Full time research and test development since 1989.
